Quartz is manufactured (man-made) so unlike natural stones that come in colors naturally occurring, it is featured in a variety of styles and colors. Quartz is made of 93% natural quartz and 7% resins. The resins act as a sealant and are the reason why you will never have to seal your quartz slabs.  A quartz countertop is probably the most logical option for countertops. It is very low maintenance and does not require any resealing on a regular basis. It has a beautiful, natural look to it.  The colors and patterns are uniform throughout the slabs and remain intact for many years. With the consistency in color and finish that quartz provides, it has become a popular option for modern design.

Quartz surfacing does not require sealing or resealing. With a countertop made of quartz you will not have little amounts of water seeping through the pores. This means that you will not have bacteria or spores growing underneath.  You can wipe up difficult stains using a washcloth dipped in a paste of warm water and baking soda. Or you can remove these difficult materials and spills by gently scraping off the excess using a plastic-putty knife. Avoiding abrasive cleaners that could dull the surface. Unlike marble and granite, engineered quartz is nonporous .
