Quartz countertop is one of the most sought-after materials when it comes to home renovating. Quartz is not 100% natural, but is 93% ground natural quartz and 7% polymer resins to bind it together. It’s not need sealed and not porous which makes it extremely durable and more impervious to bacteria. It’s harder than granite, can scratch , but nearly indestructible.  Though the  quartz  countertop is really durable and heat resistant but you still should not go ahead and put hot pans right on that surface. As in the case of other countertops, you should use a stove mitten or a trivet to protect the surface from cracks and discoloration. Compared to marble , granite is a more robust choice for countertops, but quartz is an even better option in this regard. 

The surfaces are resistant to scratches and cuts, though it’s still recommended you use a cutting board on top of them.
